Whether you’re knee deep into the social media circles already, or you’re just getting your feet wet, you need to get a handle on your various accounts and the info for each one. I’m talking username, password, your profile URL, your bio, etc., for networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, or social bookmarking sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon, sharing sites like Flikr, and forums or private groups you belong to. They stack up very quickly.
Download the Free Social Media Account Tracking Tool
Now, I know this isn’t a very glamorous task, but it will make your life much easier! To help you out with the task, I’m sharing my very own tool that I created to help me keep track of my own social media accounts and profiles. It’s yours free. You can download it here.
The spreadsheet lists some of the sites that I use just to give you an idea. However, you can change these accounts to reflect the ones that you participate in, and add even more too.
Save Social Media Time and Frustration
If you’ve lost your username or password for any of your accounts, go now and use the "lost password" feature at each site and add it to your spreadsheet. Then you’ll have it when you need it, and save yourself the frustration of having to look for it.
Now whenever you open a new social media account, be sure to add it to your spreadsheet. This tool will make it easier to complete a new account profile too, because you can open it and copy a bio from one of your other sites. It’s a great idea to keep your profiles and bios consistent across accounts.
Keeping this spreadsheet up to date will save you tons of time having to look up account information when you need it, because now it’s all in one place.
So go download the spreadsheet and complete with all of your own social media account info, then comment on the blog and share your success. And because I love sharing helpful info, if you have suggestions for improving the spreadsheet, let us know that too!
